ToneSight Privacy Policy

We understand how important privacy is to you. This policy explains how the App handles data related to you, following the principles of "transparency, minimization, and local first". Please read it carefully before use.

1. Information We Collect

The App does not collect any information that can identify you personally.

Specifically:

• We do not require you to register an account or provide personal information such as name, phone number, or email.
• We do not upload your audio, recordings, practice records, or settings to any server.
• The App does not integrate any analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, or third-party tracking services.
• The App does not share your data with any third party.

2. Microphone Permission

To enable core features such as pitch detection, tuning, and rhythm analysis, the App needs to access your device's microphone:

• What is captured: Ambient audio signals (PCM data) captured by the microphone.
• How it is processed: All audio processing (including pitch detection algorithms) is performed locally and in real time on your device. The raw audio stream is not saved or transmitted.
• What is saved: Only when you actively tap the "Record" button, the App saves the captured audio as WAV files in the App's local data directory on your device. You can view, export, or delete these files at any time in "History".
• Controllability: You may revoke the microphone permission at any time in system settings. After revocation, features that depend on the microphone will be unavailable, but features that do not require the microphone (such as the metronome) will continue to work.

3. Data Stored Locally

The following data is stored only in the App's local data directory on your device:

• Recordings: WAV audio (generated only when you actively record)
• Reference layers: Custom pitch curve data you draw or import
• Practice progress: Aggregated metrics history (such as accuracy, vocal range, etc.)
• App settings: Preferences you configure in the settings page

This data never leaves your device. Uninstalling the App or clearing app data will permanently delete this data, and it cannot be recovered.

4. Data Security

Since all data is stored in the App's local sandbox on your device, it is protected by operating-system-level application isolation. We cannot access this data, and we are not responsible for data loss caused by device loss, system crashes, or user-initiated cleanup.

5. Children's Privacy

The App is designed for general music practitioners and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that we have inadvertently received data from a child, please notify us through the in-app feedback channel, and we will promptly delete it.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The updated policy will be presented within the App, and your continued use constitutes acceptance of the revisions. Significant changes will be communicated through in-app notices.
